A coding agent that lives in your terminal. You start it in the directory you want worked on, type a message, and a language model reads and edits the files there, runs commands, and answers. Then it waits for the next message.
Work in progress. This is young and it is not stable. Expect breaking changes with no deprecation period, and pin a version rather than a promise.
The script downloads the archive for your platform, verifies its checksum against the published SHA256SUMS, and unpacks the binaries into ~/.local/bin. Only trevolve is needed: it is the terminal client, hosts its own sessions and runs every management command; grevolve (a window) and revolve (a server without terminal libraries) ride along. It never needs root and touches nothing else. Set PREFIX to install somewhere else.
curl -fsSL https://gitlab.com/porky11/revolve-agent/-/raw/master/install.sh | sh
It is a short POSIX shell script, and reading it before running it is a reasonable thing to do: install.sh.
| Platform | Archive | Size | SHA-256 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linux x86-64 static, no libc needed |
revolve-{{VERSION}}-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz | {{LINUX_SIZE}} | {{LINUX_SHA256}} |
| Windows x86-64 cross-built with mingw, not lived in yet |
revolve-{{VERSION}}-x86_64-pc-windows-gnu.zip | {{WINDOWS_SIZE}} | {{WINDOWS_SHA256}} |
The archives, their SHA256SUMS and the installer are served from this page's own directory; every release is also listed on the releases page. On any other platform, build it from source with a stable Rust toolchain: cargo install --git https://gitlab.com/porky11/revolve-agent trevolve.
Give it an API key and start it in the directory you want worked on. That directory is the sandbox: it is what the agent may read and write, and nothing above it.
export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-...
cd ~/projects/my-thing

Type a message and press Enter. /help lists every command, Esc stops a running turn, Ctrl+Q quits.
